Yunnan is a big place whose resources are very abundance, has the 

reputation as" Kingdom of Plant"," Kingdom of Animal"," Kingdom of

 Non- ferrous metals"," Hometown of Spice"," Natural Garden" etc. Altogether, there 

are 18 thousand kinds of higher plants, which includes about 10 thousand tropic or

 semitropic plants. The area of woods is about 23.83 million acres, the storage of wood 

is 247 thousand acres, one of the four wood places in China. Abounds tobacco , 

notoginseng, rhizoma gastrodiae, pepper etc. herbs, and tropic or semitropic fruits. 

The amount of cured tobacco and cigarette is the biggest one in China. Abounds the 

natural plants of spice and oil producer. Abounds animals, both birds and beasts are 

the first one in China. Mineral resources is abundant, the amount of water is abundant

 which we can learn from Lancang River and Nu River. Yunnan and surrounding countries

 have the economical trade with each other, the famous" South Silk Road" is longer than" 

North Silk Road", it began from the fourth century BC. Most area of Yunnan province

 belong to tropic and semitropical zone.
